Simon Rakoff has been performing stand-up since 1978. Considered one of the quickest minds on the scene, Simon is a veteran who performs with the enthusiasm of a newcomer. He is widely regarded as one of Canada's top MCs and has appeared at clubs, pubs, campuses and corporate events across Canada and in the US.

Simon's act is carefully crafted and full of thought-provoking, hilarious routines. He covers religion, relationships, stupidity and man in the modern world. All this combined with ad-libbing abilities second to none.

On television, Simon has appeared on Just For Laughs, The Winnipeg Comedy Festival, The Halifax Comedy Festival, CBC's Comics! and holds the record for appearances on Open Mike With Mike Bullard. He was also a regular contributor of humorous commentary on the CBC Evening News. Simon is a popular voice on CBC Radio on shows like Definitely Not The Opera, As It Happens, and The Debaters.

As a writer, Simon's range is wide with credits on sitcoms, sketch shows, cartoons, and kids shows. He also worked on Fox's Sunday Comics and sold numerous jokes to Jay Leno for his Tonight Show monologues.

Simon has also been seen as an actor in commercials and parts on This is Wonderland, The Rick Mercer Report, Queer As Folk, The Associates, Switchback and the film Prescription For Murder.

He is also a voice-over artist in commercials and cartoons such as Carl Squared.
